How to use a dedicated GPU to run RANDOM Metal

RANDOM Metal graphics will run better if you have a dedicated GPU but your computer will sometimes choose to run your DAW with the CPU integrated graphics unit rather than the dedicated one. You can check which one is being used in the Task Manager:


You can specify which GPU should be used with each application on your graphics card specific software (like NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Radeon Software), however this doesn't guarantee it will work for a plugin in a DAW.

You can force windows to use the dedicated GPU by going to Settings > Display > Graphics, clicking on Options on your DAW's app and selecting which GPU you want to use:
